HHI To Do - (Goodbye Summer. I promise)

I, too, am ready to move on, but as promised to a few friends/family, here is our 'To Do' list on the island. (After this, we're moving on to more exciting things like Nash's first day of school, house hunting and Bee Mighty developments).

Summer 'To Dos'
We had a lot of 'Must Dos' this summer, but whittled them down to the following favorites:

  • Paddleboad Yoga & Yoga studio @ Jiva Yoga
  • Thursday night Farmers market, followed by dinner at Pepper's Porch Porch (Bluffton)
  • Best Dive = The Sea Shack - Be prepared to wait for hours for the four tables available in this tiny, local spot. Best shrimp po boy and hushpuppies.
  • Visiting Bambi & pony rides at Lawton Stables
  • Crabbing at south beach (Sea Pines) **prime dolphin spotting**
  • Chart House/Skull Creek Boathouse - We have this down to a science. Skull Creek is our favorite. They have corn hole, bubbles, huluhoops, live music, bug spray, coloring books, sandbox... and a bar. This is available on the marsh with a sunset view, while parents patiently wait for their table for dinner. It is heaven with small children. While sushi is lovely at Skull Creek (we definitely recommend eating outside), we fell in love with the Saturday night band at the Chart House, just next door. We would meander over from the Boathouse after cocktails and have a delicious dinner at the Chart House, while Nash and Shaw danced to the bongos.
  • Fresh seafood from Bluffton Seafood Co
  • Best Sunday Brunch - Ella's at Shelter Cove
  • Best Beach Burger - The Dunes House @ Palmetto Dunes (Wednesday = live music or pop in for lunch off the beach)
  • Best Bloody or Low Country Boil - Prepared on Saturdays for guests by my husband.
  • Touring the HHI Firehouse (highly recommended by Nash)
Get your FRESH catch here (Bluffton)
  • Staying in pjs all day (Shaw's favorite)

    Dinner picnics on the beach

pjs & sidewalk art
Visiting "Bambi" and pony rides and hippatherapy at Lawton Stables

Sunset swims
Dinner at Pepper's Porch (Bluffton - totally worth it!)
Such gracious heros
Nash learning to swim!!!!!!

Shaw learning to walk!
Golfing with the boys

HHI - It's a wrap.
