Creative Giving ... Everybody's Doing It!

We are absolutely overwhelmed by the intense creativity and generosity of our friends, family and community. Every day we are humbled by another way someone has decided to give back to Bee Mighty. Here are a few of the latest examples...

Christmas Cards
Carol Burgess graciously wanted to follow the lead of our 'mystery friend' that came up with the idea to select Bee Mighty as their Christmas charity. She, too, is including Bee Mighty's web address in her Christmas card, helping us create awareness for our foundation. One example reads:

Give a Gift
Kelly Kane and Danielle Richter asked friends and family to make donations to Bee Mighty in their name for their birthdays. Megan McGhee has asked the same for Christmas. A friend of a friend of a friend (someone we have not personally met) asked for donations for Bee Mighty in lieu of presents for her daughter's first birthday.  Wow!

Church Involvement
Myers Park Methodist Church, always gracious, is including Bee Mighty as an option for Alternative Giving this holiday season. They are sharing information with the congregation via emails and facebook, further creating awareness. There are numerous ways to get your church involved (taking an offering one Sunday, asking your Bible Study to get involved, etc).

Community Participation
The Art Room partnered with Bee Mighty to hold an Open House children in our community. Not only did children receive a free art experiece, but they had the chance to contribute to the making of 'The Mural of Hope', which is a dedication to families in the NICU and will be on display at Presbyterian's Hospital.

Bee Mighty Fundraising Page
This is an incredible way to easily spread the word about Bee Mighty and get involved, especially if you're out of state. Meg Walters created the following Fundraising Page. She told me it took about 6 minutes. She then forwarded her page to her friends and family and personally is invested to our cause. This is the email she sent, once her page was created:

A message from Meg Walters mjwalters@novanthealth.org.
Dear Friends,

I recently created my own fudnraising page to support Bee Mighty at Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation. We are working to help raise money to support Bee Mighty, a fund at the Foundation that provides direct patient assistance for medical related expenses to families of micropreemies. Please help us make a difference.

Whatever you can give will be appreciated, and everything helps. Please visit my page at the link below to learn more and make a gift. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Meg Walters

Bee Tees
Selling close to 200 tees is unbelievable!! Now people are returning to purchase tees for friends and family - perfect for the holidays. Great for giving in honor of a baby, family or friend.

Running. Walking. Racing. Unifying.
The Yavellos blew us away with a $200 purchase of Bee Tees. They purchased tshirts for their extended family that will be visiting for Thanksgiving. Together, they will walking/running the Turkey Trot in Charlotte (and we plan to join them!!!) this Thanksgiving. (Click here to register).

Retail Donation Jars
Shaw's grandmother created these great 'Donate' jars. She has the donation jars available at neighborhood boutiques, tennis matches, even had them at their neighborhood garage sale.

Consignment Sales
Team Rawald recently held a consignment sale and donated all proceeds to Bee Mighty. This is the first of many to come from the Rawalds.

Trunk show
Stephanie Reynolds and Kacki Sweeney hosted trunk shows, donating a portion of the proceeds to Bee Mighty (and simultaneously selling numerous tshirts to supporters).

Corporate Sponsorships & Matching
The Caputos, the Uhers and the Nunns all worked with their corporations to raise thousands for Bee Mighty! Ask us how to have your company match your donation!

Friends and Family Email
David and Missy Mowery shared our story via a personal letter to their friends and family. (Please let me know if you would like to see an example).

Sharing via Social Networking
Hundreds have shared articles, links, photos and 'likes' on Facebook and Twitter. This is tremendous, as it increases awareness to so many various networks. Betsy Whalen posted, "In honor of those who are waking up every day unsure of what they will face, and my friend who, when faced with the biggest crisis of her life managed to turn it into an opportunity to help others, today I made a donation to Bee Mighty. I hope you will do the same!"

If nothing else, be sure to 'Like' Bee Mighty's  facebook page or share our story by posting this video.

These are just a few ideas. They have individually built Bee Mighty's foundation. Thank you to so many for your support, creativity, dedication and believing in this cause. Mostly, we thank you for fighting for the tiniest warriors.
